Blog 6 (New Topic) - Second Interview Preparation

1.) Who is your mentor and where do they work?
A: I have many different mentors. Usually they are the managers who open the doors when I arrive, or they can be volunteers as well. There is also a separate group who does the dog rescuing, and they also volunteer at the shelter as well.

2.) What five questions will you ask them about their backround?
A:

1. Hello. What motivated you to rescue animals?
2. What did you have to take into precaution when doing this?
3. Did you take an classes about animals, such as vet tech or anything relating to animal studies?
4. Why do you feel it is important to rescue an animal from a kill shelter?
5. What is the best feeling you get when doing this profession?

Blog 4 (New Topic) - First Interview Preparation

1.) Who do you plan to interview? Why?
     A: I plan to interview one of the staff members, or managers. They seem to have been around the animals for a while, so they must know how to run the place. They know how to treat and care for the facility.

2.) What additional questions do you plan to ask? (Ask open ended questions.)

• How are you today? What made you want to work with animals? Tell me a little about yourself, and your experience with the animals.
• What is like to care for an animal in need?
• What's the difference in caring for an animal who is saved from a no-kill shelter, than one that customers can drop off?
• How do you find the animals from no-kill shelters? Do you go to a no-kill shelter in person? 
• Caution is necessary when handling an animal who is sick. Is it harder to care for an animal in the shelter, than say if it were at an animal hospital? What's the difference?
• Is it hard finding home for animals? Do city limits prevent individuals from adoption?

A: I currently don't have a mentor. If I keep contacting then maybe I might have some luck. They would most likely work in an ice rink or a shop that sells ice skating materials.

• What inspired you to achieve this?
• What has changed about yourself since starting this career?
• What's the best part of having this career/job choice?
• What advice can you give to others who want to do figure skating as a career?
