November Post

Okay, so earlier this month I was rejected mentorship offers for my previos senior topic, Ice Skating. Once that happened, I looked online to see if I was able to find more opportunities. I came across certain animal shelters and rescues that needed volunteers. I emailed as many as I could and so far I have found about two places to volunteer at. I attended an orientation at the Priceless Pets shelter, so I will be signing up for my volunteer schedule very soon. I will be speaking with Ortega tomorrow about the topic change.

EQ

1.) "I reviewed the rule of three for writing an EQ."

2.) What is the most important factor in healthy weight loss?
A: No it doesn't follow the rule of 3. It's too easy and straight forward.

What is most important to securing a conviction in a criminal investigation?
A: Yes it follows the rule of 3. It requires a response to go in depth with the process of the conviction.

What is most important in creating a hairstyle that best satisfies a customer?
A: No. It requires a response with very little explanation.

How can an anesthesiologist best treat chronic pain?
A: Yes. The response would most likely contain what type of medication is necessary, the amount of dosage, etc It goes in very detailed.

3.) Why are basic fundamentals important while learning how to ice skate, and how do they benefit the skater?

Lesson 1 Reflection

1.)  What are you most proud of your Lesson 1 Presentation and why?
A: I am most proud of the fact that I kept the audience engaged and entertained. I felt like the audience was really paying attention to what I had to say.

2.)  a. What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 1 presentation? (Self assessment)
A: I would give myself about an AP. Simply because I turned in my rough draft lesson plan late. I also believe that I didn't really have much to say about certain things that I had mentioned in my topic.

      b. Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 1 component contract.
A: I believe that I deserve an AP, due to the fact that I turned in my rough draft lesson plan late. I also feel like I didn't give out too much information as I would have liked to.

3.) What worked for you in your Lesson 1?
A: Well I am glad the audience engaged in my presentation. I also like how I drew a small image on the board that related to my presentation. Pacing worked just as well too, it shows I used my spacing efficiently.

4.) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 1?
A: I think I would've liked to better prepare myself for the presentation. Also, I think I would've liked to show a video about what I talked about as an example.

October Blog Post

I have yet to find a mentor for my senior project. . .however I will be starting my independent component hours in the beginning of November, I will be taking ice skating lessons. I will also soon be updating my independent component hours. Hopefully when I do my independent component hours, I'll be able to ask about a possible mentor ship. If all doesn't avail, I will ask for my house teachers for help.
